Control
Who is really in control? There are so many interest groups trying to get their way. Government officials and people hungry for power. People with money willing to pay to have their way. There are so many conspiracy theories, with very valid proofs. One of the biggest and easy to demonstrate is how the oil industry has deliberately inhibited the promotion of energy saving or fuel saving devices. Especially, when it comes to automotive fuel savings. I spoke recently to a gentleman who explained that he had previously worked at the U.S. Patent office. He went on to describe the thousands of patented gasoline saving devices that were never developed or brought to market because the patent was bought and then shelved. All around the world we are hearing stories of hydrogen and water powered vehicles, now being developed and produced. I found an article in an encyclopedia where this technology was first developed 100 years ago. So, who is in control. There is little doubt as to the power of the oil industry. Look at how Exxon avoided having to pay for the big oil spill in Alaska. They were fined and were told to pay 100s of millions. They were recently released from that penalty. How could they do that? There is an old saying: what goes around comes around. We are so short sighted. I read how a major pharmaceutical company paid for cancer research to debunk a cure for cancer. Years later the president of that company died of cancer. I read a newspaper article, years ago about the 25 wealthiest men in the world in the year 1900. According to the article, most of the men had died horrible deaths. Apparently, mental health and physical health issues were major factors. Some had succumbed to alcohol, marital infidelity, wasteful spending, gambling, and poor investments had led to extreme poverty for several. Where will today’s millionaires and billionaires be in 25 or 35 years. There is a way that seems right to most men, but where does it lead? There was a time when I was very unhappy. I had money. I could have anything I wanted. But I was empty on the inside. I had to learn, Charlie is not in control. Have you figured out who is in control. Well it is not President Bush or Nancy Pelosi; not big Pharma or big oil; not Russia, OPEC, China, not even al Qaida. Are you in control? Are you happy? For how many minutes a week? Stop trying to be in control! |
